We are a veterinary practice based in the Swan Valley which has been open for only four years, but has now developed an outstanding turnover and is growing at 30-40% annually. We provide affordable, high quality veterinary care to our patients and excellent customer service to their owners.

We are a close, hardworking team who support each other in a high pressure and fast paced working environment. It can be hard to predict when patients will need our help, but we ensure that all staff get sufficient time to enjoy life away from work. We are committed to continuing education and personal development of all staff.

We have created a unique destination for animals and their owners. We run a dog playground, pet friendly cafe, dog swimming pool and canine agility park - all in the same rural setting as the clinic.

New Graduate 12-month Training Positions (2 Available)

Swan Valley Vet Centre will be offering two new graduate 12 month training positions commencing December 2020.

Swan Valley Vet is a predominantly small animal clinic with 5 full-time experienced vets.  The training positions are additional to the existing veterinary staff.

The clinic offers new graduates exposure to a very high volume caseload in a dynamic first opinion environment

Equipment and facilities are of the highest level with multiple DR, ultrasound and endoscopy units, full in-house Idexx lab service, endoscopic TCI with frozen and fresh semen for canine breeding, small animal arthroscopy and orthopaedics, incubator, oxygen chamber, Ligasure, and full dental suite including dental DR. Our new CT unit will be completed before the end of this year, with the opportunity to be exposed to this advanced imaging modality supervised by a Board Certified Diagnostic Imaging Specialist.

The practice offers clients an inclusive, and alternative, approach to animal health with an extensive range of in-house dog training classes, an Agility Park, dog playground, scent garden, swimming pool and cafe.

We recognise that new graduates can be overwhelmed by the transition into practice.  Therefore we offer a structured process whereby new graduates can hone their surgical and diagnostic skills away from the “front line” of consulting face to face with clients.  We the introduce graduates to simple consulting tasks such as vaccination and post-op checks so that they can perfect their client-communication skills in low stress situations.  Then, as the skill and confidence levels of the veterinarian increase, we support them through selected, more complex consultation-types.  This intensively supervised period will last at least 6 months. Each new graduate will be partnered with a specific senior mentor within the practice veterinary team.
